GUPPI First Light Observations of Pulsar B1821-24!

On April 17, the team working on the new GBT pulsar backend achieved first light. The Green Bank Ultimate Pulsar Processing Instrument, or GUPPI is based on the open-source FPGA-based technologies developed at U.C. Berkeley. A large number of NRAO staff members, students, and university collaborators have contributed to GUPPI since it was first proposed in fall 2006. Learn more in the NRAO e-newsletter.
